Medical Room
All parents, will need to report directly to Caredig Reception regarding any medical issues or to pick up their child from the Medical Room.

The Medical Room is situated in the Caredig Building and is open from 8.00 am until 4.00 pm (3.30 pm on Fridays).
The Medical Room has an 'open door' approach, although pupils are encouraged to visit outside lesson times when possible. It provides First Aid and also a quiet room for rest, when required.
A 'Pupil Medical Information Sheet' should be completed by parents before their child enters the school. If their child's medical situation changes during the school year, then a new form will need to be completed and returned to the Medical Room.
Support is given to pupils with ongoing medical conditions, such as Asthma, Diabetes, Epilepsy and Anaphylaxis and they are helped to participate in all aspects of school life. The school also has an Asthma Policy.
If your son/daughter requires essential medication of any type during the school day, then all sections of the 'Request to Administer Medicine' Form must be completed and returned to the Medical Room. Medication is to be handed to Mrs Compton, School Medical Officer, marked with dosage and pupil name.
In appropriate circumstances (e.g. inhalers, EpiPens etc) pupils may be allowed to carry medication in their bags, following a discussion with Mrs Compton and completion of a 'Request for Pupil to carry his/her own Medicine' Form. Completed forms need to be returned to the Medical Room.
Pupils will be cared for if they become unwell during the school day; parents will be contacted and asked to collect their child, if they are too unwell to return to class. In an emergency, pupils requiring hospital treatment will be accompanied by a member of staff until parents arrive.
Mrs Compton offers a friendly approach to pupils in times of need and will refer directly to the relevant Head of Year when appropriate.
To contact the Medical Room, please call 01633 892191 and ask for Mrs Compton.
