All over the country people have been celebrating our culture, pride and history recently for the annual national Eisteddfod! Here in our school, celebrations also took place in Griffin Hall with both blwyddyn saith a wyth- competitions, songs, performances and even teacher challenges allowed our students to feel spirited and gain a sense of Welsh identity before finishing for summer break.
Gwyliais Eisteddfod yr ysgol gyda fy nosbarth Cymraeg (blwyddyn 12) a heb os nac oni bai, fy hoff ran oedd cystadleuaeth bwyta pice ar y maen! Roedd yn ddoniol iawn (a dim ond yn rhannol gros).
There were many deserving winners and runners up awarded rosettes and certificates during the Eisteddfod, for example subject contests like designing their own Welsh culture posters. I believe that this has encouraged the younger members of our school community to recognise the value of Welsh language and enjoy their last days of what has been an amazing year back at Bassaleg.
