On Friday 14th October we celebrated Diwrnod Shwmae as a school. Diwrnod Shwmae celebrates Welsh language and Welsh culture through the use of incidental Welsh to those we see throughout the day.
Students were encouraged to wear a splash of red or green with their school uniform and there were lots of fun, Welsh-themed activities at break and lunch time.
This included a Welsh photo booth and Welsh bingo in Forge Hall. Students could be found walking the corridor offering a polite ‘Shwmae!’ to staff as well as asking ‘Sut wyt ti?’.
The positivity throughout the day was infectious and helps us as a school community to embrace our Welsh culture and have fun while learning our national language. Ymddrech dda pawb!’
